第一天上班 First day at work

Jīntiān shì Xiǎo Zhāng dì yì tiān shàngbān. Tā qī diǎn jiù qǐchuáng le, huàn shàng le xīn chènshān, bǐ píngshí zǎo yí gè xiǎoshí dào le gōngsī.

今天是小张第一天上班。他七点就起床了，换上了新衬衫，比平时早一个小时到了公司。

Today was Xiao Zhang’s first day at work. He got up at seven, put on a new shirt, and arrived at the office an hour earlier than usual.

Shàngwǔ, jīnglǐ gěi tā jièshào le gōngsī, hái ràng yí wèi lǎo tóngshì dài tā liǎojiě gōngzuò. Xiǎo Zhāng hěn dānxīn, pà zìjǐ zuò cuò shì, suǒyǐ yìzhí rènzhēn de tīng, rènzhēn de jì.

上午，经理给他介绍了公司，还让一位老同事带他了解工作。小张很担心，怕自己做错事，所以一直认真地听，认真地记。

In the morning the manager told him about the company and asked an experienced colleague to show him the work. Xiao Zhang was worried and afraid of making mistakes, so he listened carefully and took careful notes.

Zhōngwǔ chī fàn de shíhou, jīnglǐ zuò dào tā pángbiān, wèn:"dì yì tiān zěnmeyàng?"Xiǎo Zhāng shuō:"yǒudiǎnr dānxīn, hěn duō shìqing hái bú tài míngbai."

中午吃饭的时候，经理坐到他旁边，问：“第一天怎么样？”小张说：“有点儿担心，很多事情还不太明白。”

At lunch the manager sat down next to him and asked, “How’s the first day going?” Xiao Zhang said, “I’m a bit worried. There’s a lot I don’t understand yet.”

Jīnglǐ xiào le:"wǒ dì yì tiān shàngbān de shíhou, bǎ kèrén de míngzi xiě cuò le sān cì. Bié dānxīn, yǒu wèntí jiù wèn, màn màn jiù xíguàn le."Tīng le zhèxiē huà, Xiǎo Zhāng fàngxīn duō le.

经理笑了：“我第一天上班的时候，把客人的名字写错了三次。别担心，有问题就问，慢慢就习惯了。”听了这些话，小张放心多了。

The manager laughed. “On my first day I wrote a client’s name wrong three times. Don’t worry. If you have questions, ask. You’ll get used to it.” After hearing that, Xiao Zhang felt much better.
