去 + place + action

To say where you go to do something, put the action after the place: 我去商店买东西.

Structure

  • Subject + 去 / 来 + place + verb

How it works

Chinese lists actions in the order they happen. Going comes first, then what you do there: 我去商店买东西 = I’m going to the shop to buy things.

来 works the same way for coming: 他来我家吃饭.

You can also say how you go, before 去: 我坐出租车去医院.
