如果…就… and …的话: if
如果 A 就 B = if A, then B. 的话 at the end of the condition also means “if”.
Structure
- 如果 + condition，(subject) + 就 + result
- Condition + 的话，…
How it works
如果 introduces a condition and 就 the result: 如果明天下雨，我们就不去了.
的话 at the end of the condition does the same job and is very common in speech: 明天下雨的话，我们就不去了. You can also use both: 如果…的话.
Examples

如果明天下雨，我们就在家看电影。
Rúguǒ míngtiān xiàyǔ, wǒmen jiù zài jiā kàn diànyǐng.
If it rains tomorrow, we’ll watch a film at home.

你累的话，就休息一下。
Nǐ lèi dehuà, jiù xiūxi yíxià.
If you’re tired, take a break.

Rúguǒ nǐ yǒu wèntí, jiù gěi wǒ dǎdiànhuà.

Common mistakes

✗我们就不去了，如果下雨。
✓如果下雨，我们就不去了。
The condition comes first.
-
✗如果下雨，所以我们不去。
✓如果下雨，我们就不去。
如果 pairs with 就, not 所以.
